ONDO GOVERNMENT RESCUES HOMELESS WOMAN AND BABY ...Reaffirms Aiyedatiwa Administration's Commitment to Protecting the Vulnerable


The Ondo State Government has rescued a middle-aged nursing mother, Mrs Elizabeth Iromidayo, whose video had gone viral online, showing her wandering around Ala Quarters in Akure.


The 35-year-old woman, who was found with her three-month-old baby, was identified as a native of Aiyetoro Community in Ilaje Local Government Area.

The Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Women Affairs, Dr Seun Osamaye, stated that the woman has been provided with temporary shelter by the State Ministry of Women Affairs, where she is currently undergoing mental health evaluation, diagnosis, and prompt treatment.

Dr Osamaye confirmed that both the mother and her baby are responding well to treatment. She also noted that further investigations will be carried out to trace the woman’s family.

She reiterated Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s unwavering commitment to prioritising the welfare of all citizens, especially the most vulnerable in society.

 Dr Osamaye also expressed gratitude to those who helped bring the situation to the government's attention, including:
Barrister Allen Sowore (Special Adviser to the Governor on Strategic Communication),Mr Ogunmola Oluwaseun Joshua (Ogbeni OB Sugar),
Mr Bayo Oosha,Mrs Akeem Bola Oreofe (the Good Samaritan who stopped the woman from wandering further),Health personnel and staff of the Ministry of Women Affairs, including: Nurse Aarinola Adamolekun (Member, Hospital Management Board),Mr Oyegunwa (Director, Social Welfare),Mr Egbekun Amose (Chief Social Welfare Officer).
