Girls to Women Research and Development Center hosts 2025 Day of the Boy-Child today ...….Ondo Deputy Governor, Thought Leaders, and Mentors to Inspire Young Boys in Akure


As the world marks the 2025 International Day of the Boy-Child, Ondo State is set to join the celebration with a special civil society-led event organized by the Girls to Women Research and Development Center. The event promises to be a rallying point for adolescent boys across the Akure metropolis.


Slated for today,Friday, May 16, 2025, by 10:00 a.m. at the Akure Recreation Club Hall, Oke Eda, Akure, the occasion will be chaired by the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Dr. Olayide Adelami, mni.

The gathering will feature a line-up of distinguished speakers, mentors, and leaders from diverse sectors who will engage the boys in impactful discussions and empowerment sessions aimed at shaping their paths toward a promising future.

In addition to panel discussions and motivational talks, the event will include a practical Youth Development Through Sports session. This segment is designed to teach essential life skills through sports education, reinforcing teamwork, discipline, and resilience among the young participants.

The Organization led by Chief Mrs Olamide Falana says the initiative underscores the importance of nurturing boys with the values, confidence, and tools needed to grow into responsible men and leaders of tomorrow.
