Aiyedatiwa Nominates Osamaye, 11 Others as Commissioners


 Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has nominated 12 individuals, including Dr. Oluwaseun Abosede Osamaye, for appointment as commissioners in the state’s Executive Council.


The governor’s request for confirmation was conveyed to the Ondo State House of Assembly in a letter dated Thursday, June 12, 2025, and addressed to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji.

According to the letter titled "Request for Confirmation of Commissioner Nominees", Governor Aiyedatiwa exercised his constitutional power under Section 192 (1&2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

The nominees are:

1. Professor Igbekele Ajibefun


2. Engr. Aycrinde Abiola Olawoye


3. Hon. Ayodele Akande


4. Engr. Alabi Johnson


5. Alhaji Amidu Takuro


6. Otunba Adewale Akinlosotu


7. Mr. Idowu Ajanaku


8. Dr. Oluwaseun Abosede Osamaye


9. Dr. Tob Loko


10. Mr. Olaolu Akindolire


11. Hon. Sunday Olajide


12. Mr. Omoyofunmi Segun Henry



Governor Aiyedatiwa, in the correspondence, appealed to the House for a swift confirmation process, stating that the nominations were made in the overall interest of the state.

"I shall be most obliged to the Honourable House for your expeditious action on this request in the overall interest of our dear State," the governor wrote.

The announcement was made public in a statement signed by Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.

The nominees are expected to be screened and confirmed by the House in the coming days.
