Akure North Lawmaker, Ologede Congratulates Gov. Aiyedatiwa on Tribunal Victory


The lawmaker representing Akure North Constituency in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Kolawole Ologede, has congratulated Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on his victory at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, describing the judgment as a well-deserved affirmation of the people’s will.


Hon. Ologede, in a statement issued on Wednesday in Akure, said the tribunal’s verdict has laid to rest all doubts about the legitimacy of the 2024 gubernatorial election, in which Governor Aiyedatiwa emerged victorious under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to him, the ruling not only upholds the democratic choice of the people of Ondo State but also reinforces the confidence of citizens in the judicial system.

“I heartily congratulate His Excellency, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on this resounding victory at the tribunal. The judgment is a confirmation of the mandate freely given to him by the good people of Ondo State,” the lawmaker stated.

He urged all stakeholders, including opposition parties, to accept the judgment in good faith and join hands with the governor in moving the state forward.

“This is a time to put politics aside and focus on governance. Our people deserve the best, and I am confident that Governor Aiyedatiwa will continue to deliver purposeful leadership across all sectors,” he added.

Hon. Ologede reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the executive arm of government to ensure development projects reach the grassroots, particularly in Akure North.

The tribunal verdict, delivered in Akure today, dismissed the petition filed by the opposition parties and upheld Aiyedatiwa’s election as duly conducted in accordance with the law.
