Appointment! Dr. Osamaye Gives Gratitude to God, Appreciates Gov Aiyedatiwa for Elevation


Dr. Seun Osamaye has expressed gratitude to God Almighty for her nomination as a Commissioner by the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
She also thanked the Governor for elevating her from the position of Special Adviser to that of Commissioner, appreciating the trust and confidence he has placed in her. She pledged her loyalty and continued support for his administration.


Dr. Osamaye was elevated from her previous role as Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs to the position of Commissioner.

In her words:

Profile of Dr. Seun Bosede Osamaye, Ph.D

Dr. Seun Bosede Osamaye, FCISM, FAFUED, is a distinguished academic and trailblazer in education, management, strategic studies, socio-political and community development, as well as philanthropic endeavors. A passionate gender advocate and respected educationist, she has taught across various educational levels for nearly two decades, balancing a successful career with family and public service.

She began her lecturing career in the Department of English at Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, where she graduated as the best student in her class and was admired by students and staff alike. She has made significant impacts on Nigeria’s political landscape from a young age. In 2019, she coordinated the “Small Alhaji Campaign Organisation,” which led to the election of Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye as a member of the House of Representatives for Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency in the 9th Assembly.

Dr. Osamaye holds a Ph.D. in English Language from Nasarawa State University, Keffi. She also earned a Master of Arts in English Language from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and a B.A. (Ed.) in English (Second Class Upper) from Adeyemi College of Education. She also obtained her NCE from the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti (now Ekiti State University of Education).

She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management (FCISM), a Fellow of Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo, and holds an honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Communication and Strategic Management from Prowess University, Delaware, USA.

Between 2019 and 2023, Dr. Osamaye served as the Senior Legislative Aide on Gender Equality to Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, then Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives (now Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu). She contributed to promoting gender equality, implementing the VAPP Act (especially against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence), and collaborating with civil society groups to improve the welfare of women and girls in Nigeria.

As part of her humanitarian efforts, she launched a yearly empowerment initiative in 2019, tagged “Give Back a Portion,” which has benefited indigent women and youth in Ifedore Local Government. The initiative has seen the donation of a car, motorcycle, cash gifts, food items, household items, grinding machines, and more.

On May 30, 2021, she received the Young Woman of the Decade Award from TRACE News Magazine.

Dr. Osamaye is also a prominent member of the APC and contributed significantly to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in 2023. She served as National President of the Progressive Young Women Forum from July 2021 to June 2023. She was first appointed interim National President by APC CECPC Women Representative Hon. Stella Okotete, and later confirmed by APC National Women Leader Dr. Betta Edu. She also served as Special Adviser (Political) to Dr. Edu from July 2022 to February 2023.

As an election management expert and data analyst, Dr. Osamaye currently serves as the National Coordinator of the Progressive Change Agents Initiative (PCAi)—an election intelligence gathering group with over 10,000 field officers. Her role was instrumental in the 2023 election victory of President Tinubu.

In December 2023, she built and donated a 200-capacity ultra-modern faculty library to her alma mater, a remarkable philanthropic gesture that earned her widespread recognition. She received the Chronicle Magazine Leadership and Philanthropic Award in March 2024, along with the Award of Honour and Leadership by the Nigeria Female Students Association (NFSAN), Ondo State Chapter, and was listed among the 100 Most Influential Progressives by The Progressives Magazine in April 2024.

Appointed Special Adviser on Women Affairs to the Governor of Ondo State in June 2024 and reappointed in February 2025, she has since led the O’datiwa Women Initiative, a project aimed at nurturing and empowering women across the state.

Dr. Osamaye is committed to gender equality and women's welfare through platforms like the O’datiwa Women Initiative and the PCAi. Her focus includes providing access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for women, particularly in the areas of empowerment, entrepreneurship, and support for women with disabilities.

She is happily married to Mr. Oladotun Emmanuel Osamaye, and they are blessed with children.
