Ologede Hails Appeal Court Verdict, Congratulates Gov Aiyedatiwa, Deputy Adelami


The Honourable Member representing Akure North Constituency in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Kolawole Ologede, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and his Deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami, on their victory at the Court of Appeal sitting in Akure.


The court, on Thursday, July 31, 2025, affirmed the election of the duo as duly elected Governor and Deputy Governor of Ondo State, dismissing the appeals filed by the People's Democratic Party (PDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Allied People's Movement (APM), and the Social Democratic Party (SDP). The appellate court upheld the earlier decision of the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal delivered on June 4, 2025, which had validated the outcome of the November 16, 2024, gubernatorial election.

Hon. Ologede described the judgment as a reaffirmation of the people's mandate and a major step forward for democracy and good governance in Ondo State. He praised the judiciary for upholding justice and standing by the truth.

While urging opposition parties to accept the judgment in good faith and join hands with the present administration for the growth of the state, the lawmaker commended Governor Aiyedatiwa’s unwavering commitment to development and inclusive leadership.

“This judgment has further cemented the confidence of the people in our democratic institutions,” he said. “I have no doubt that Governor Aiyedatiwa and Deputy Adelami will continue to deliver purposeful leadership that will benefit all citizens of Ondo State.”
