The House had earlier conducted a screening exercise for the nominees, which concluded last Friday at the Assembly complex. The screening was conducted by the Committee of the Whole House, chaired by the Speaker.
Governor Aiyedatiwa had forwarded the list to the Assembly a few weeks ago for screening and confirmation. The Clerk of the House, Jaiyeola Benjamin, read the Governor’s letter requesting the consideration of the nominees.
Presenting the report of the Committee of the Whole, the Deputy Speaker, Ololade Gbegudu, stated that the nominees responded eloquently and explicitly to all questions raised during the screening. He noted that they demonstrated clear understanding of the policies of the current administration in Ondo State, and highlighted their past achievements both in public service and other engagements.

Earlier, the Majority Leader of the House, Chief Olatunji Oshati, moved the motion for the adoption of the report and confirmation of the nominees. This was seconded by Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, representing Owo Constituency 1.
Lawmakers from the constituencies of the nominees spoke glowingly in support of their confirmation, describing them as competent and capable of delivering on their responsibilities.
Speaker Oladiji said the confirmation exercise was in line with constitutional provisions. He charged the new commissioners-designate to work closely with the Governor to move the state forward. He congratulated them and urged them to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state and the wellbeing of its people.
Speaking on behalf of the commissioners-designate, a former Lawmaker,Sunday Olajide pledged that they would not disappoint the Governor, the House, and the people of Ondo State.
He described the moment as a new dawn for the state and promised to bring their experience to bear in delivering effective public service.
